Painting the Wainwrights
Over the last few months I have been completing a personal challenge to climb and paint all 214 Wainwrights – the Lake District peaks included in Alfred Wainwrights now legendary guidebooks.
Taking my inspiration from Wainwright, but blending it with my own love of exploring the fells on foot (and well off the beaten trod), I’ve painted both familiar and unique perspectives of these much-loved fells.
All 214 Wainwrights are depicted across a mix of single-fell paintings and multi-fell panoramas, all original oil paintings on canvas. The full collection is currently on show at the Old Courthouse Gallery in Ambleside.
